This is from Jamey Ice who is the lead guitarist of Green River Ordinance, a band I really enjoy. He tweeted this morning that the band’s former label, EMI, had removed a music video from YouTube, claiming sole copyright of the song. Even though the band financed the video by arranging a KickStarter account and filmed it long after leaving the label, EMI still blocked it.
I’m speechless. SOPA’s getting personal now…

I’m not sure who this band is, but this is infuriating. Don’t they have any legal recourse?

GRO is a great band, they are very sweet talented guys that work really hard, and they don’t deserve this. Spread this like wild fire!!! They financed the video via kickstarter with no involvement of EMI. The least they deserve is to have the video available on Youtube.
